How Neurotoxins Work

Our skilled nurses examine the areas you would like to treat, and determine the amount of Xeomin or Botox you need.  We believe in fulfilling our client’s desires with as little treatment as possible.

You feel a minor pinch when Xeomin or Botox is injected.  Some people get mild redness or swelling, which lasts only a few minutes.

Avoid putting on makeup, creams or lotions for 4 to 6 hours after treatment.

Noticing a difference:  You will begin to see results from your Xeomin or Botox treatment in 24 to 72 hours.

For the best results you may need to use Xeomin or Botox every three to six months, depending upon the area that was treated.

The New You:  We are confident you will love your smooth and youthful skin!

“Amazing experience! Staff are friendly, welcoming, & accommodating."

- Kelsie B., Reflections client

Botox vs. Xeomin:
What’s The Difference?

  • Xeomin is one ingredient; Botox is more than one ingredient.
  • Xeomin contains no preservatives; Botox contains preservatives.
  • Both treat fine lines and wrinkles with similar results.

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox & Xeomin

All of us at Reflections Medical Spa in Milton are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the use of neurotoxins.

Are neurotoxins painful?

You feel a minor pinch. Some patients ask us to first apply a numbing cream.  While this cream is not necessary for the majority of people, we are happy to use it.

Are neurotoxins safe?

When properly used, neurotoxins are very safe. We always carefully review your medical history to make sure use of neurotoxins is right for you.

Are neurotoxins only used to treat wrinkles?

No! Mayo Clinic reports that neck spasms, excessive sweating, TMJ, overactive bladders, and chronic migraines can all be treated with Botox.

What do I need to do after neurotoxin treatment?

You should not apply makeup or pressure to the treated area for at least 4 to 6 hours. Try to maintain a regular body temperature. This means you should avoid exercise, hot yoga, steam rooms, hot tubs or saunas for the remainder of the treatment day.

When will I see results?

Most people begin to see results 24 to 72 hours after treatment. The relaxation of the muscles is usually complete for up to 2 weeks. However, esthetic neurotoxin treatment isn’t permanent. You most likely will need to repeat such treatments every 3 to 6 months, in order to maintain the look and feel of wrinkle-free skin.
